Dr. Maroju (AG Sansone) was awarded the prestigious the FELs of Europe Prize.

The prize is awarded in recognition of recent work for scientific excellence in the area of free electron laser science and applications in its broadest sense by a young scientist (below 35 years at the ceremony date).

Dr. Maroju received the prize for his outstanding contributions to the development of correlation methods for the temporal characterization and control of attosecond pulses at seeded Free Electron laser facilities (see P. K. Maroju et al., Nature 578, 386 (2020)).

The prize was awarded during the international Science@FELs 2022 conference, which took place from 19-22 September 2022 at DESY and European XFEL in Hamburg.

Dr. Maroju is currently continuing his scientific career as Postdoc in the Attosecond group at the University of Lund.
