After toric and real affine geometry had entered the scene of mirror symmetry with Batyrev's and Strominger-Yau-Zaslow's work, Mark Gross and Bernd Siebert have started a program in 2003 which connects mirror symmetry with tropical geometry. In this seminar, we intend to gain an understanding of some of the developments before and since then for which we will mostly follow Mark Gross' book on the subject.
Everyone is welcome to participate!
